These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BulbMatch — Light Bulb Color application ("the App") published by Bulpara Inc ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

BulbMatch is an iOS application that helps you choose a replacement light bulb. You point the rear camera at a bulb that still works — or, in the guided white-paper mode, at a sheet of white paper lit only by that bulb — and the App suggests which standard bulb to buy: 2700K, 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. It also lists the phrases that bulb is sold under, because brands do not agree on packaging vocabulary: 2700K is usually sold as "Soft White" but sometimes as "Warm White", and 3000K is sold as "Warm White", "Bright White" and "Soft White" depending on who made it.

The App works from the camera's own estimate of the light in the scene. It waits for that estimate to hold still before showing an answer, and where two buckets are close together it says so — for example "Between 2700K and 3000K — measure again on white paper" — rather than guessing. You can save a result under a room and fixture so the next replacement is a lookup instead of a guess. Everything runs on your device. There is no account, no network layer, and the App works in Airplane Mode. The camera is the only permission the App requests; no frame is ever saved and nothing is ever written to your photo library.

2. Important Limitations

BulbMatch gives guidance for choosing a replacement bulb. It is not a calibrated measuring instrument. You understand and agree that:

• The App reads the camera's own estimate of the light it is looking at. That estimate is produced by hardware and software tuned to make photographs look pleasing, not to characterize an illuminant.
• Results vary between phone models, and between lighting conditions. Readings are not comparable across devices, which is why the App records which device took each reading and warns you rather than silently mixing them.
• The App must not be relied on for photography, video, horticulture, medical, safety, or any application requiring verified color temperature. If your work needs a verified figure, use equipment intended and certified for that purpose.
• Check the Kelvin figure printed on the packaging before you buy. The App tells you what to look for; the box is the final word on what is inside it.
• The App needs to see the light itself. It is intended for a bulb that is switched on and directly visible, or for white paper lit only by that bulb. It is not designed to read a bulb that is off, a bulb behind a shade or diffuser, a fixture mixing several different bulbs, or a room lit partly by daylight.
• A reading may not settle at all in difficult conditions. When that happens the App will say so and offer the white-paper mode, which is the more reliable of the two methods.
• The App reports one of four standard buckets, not a laboratory value. Bulbs sold under the same Kelvin figure still differ between brands and between production runs.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Present a reading from the App as a certified, verified, or instrument-grade color temperature measurement to any third party
• Rely on the App in any safety-critical, regulated, medical, or professional lighting context
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to circumvent the free-tier limits or the in-app purchase
• Use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or third-party rights

4. One-Time Purchase & Billing

• Free: No charge, and no advertising of any kind. 3 measurements in total (not per day) and 1 saved fixture, including the guided white-paper mode.
• Unlock: $4.99, paid once. Unlocks unlimited measurements, unlimited rooms and fixtures, calibration, measurement history, and shopping-list copy.
• This is not a subscription. The unlock is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. There is no free trial, nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel.
• The purchase is made through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple's Terms of Service. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• The unlock is tied to the Apple Account that bought it. You can restore it with "Restore Purchases" on any device signed in to that Apple Account, and it is Family Shareable, so members of your Family Sharing group can use it too.
• Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. We cannot issue, approve, or decline a refund. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• We may change the price of the unlock in the future. A purchase you have already made is unaffected.

5. User Content

Rooms, fixture names, and saved readings are stored locally on your device and nowhere else. The App creates no content that we can see: camera frames are processed live and discarded, no image is written to your photo library, and nothing you enter is transmitted to us or to anyone else. Because your data lives only on your device, it is yours to keep and yours to lose — deleting the App deletes it.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, and packaged content, is owned by Bulpara Inc and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for its intended purpose.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED, THAT ANY READING WILL IDENTIFY THE CORRECT BULB, OR THAT A BULB BOUGHT ON THE APP'S GUIDANCE WILL MATCH THE ONES ALREADY IN YOUR FIXTURE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BULPARA INC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Purchasing decisions made from a reading, including bulbs that do not match once installed
• Differences between readings taken on different devices, with different cameras, or in different lighting conditions
• Any use of the App in photography, video, horticulture, medical, safety, or other work requiring verified color temperature
• Loss of saved rooms, fixtures, or history through device failure, device loss, or deletion of the App
• Charges that fall under Apple's billing policy

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bulpara Inc from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, including any decision you make or advise on the basis of a reading.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the business.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions.
